Tag yourself; I'm Dora ("¡Lo hicimos!") |
We did it! Twenty Eight is a little culmination of this whole project, and I'm excited for you to celebrate with me. (You can see all the NaCroWriMo puzzles here) But first:
I've learned a few things, but I don't want to take up too much space on what will already be a long post. Succinctly: 1) Just keep going. 2) Much of the time, done is better than perfect / Making imperfect things is useful experience. 3) Don't be afraid to ask for help - which leads to...
4) Find the people who make your work better. This is my success as much as it is yours. I absolutely couldn't have made and posted twenty eight puzzles in thirty days (omg!) without the help of every single person listed here:
Brian and Ryan, who welcomed my puzzle onto their show which I shamelessly re-packaged as One
Elipsis for inspiring and hosting spicy Seven
Frisco for finding the theme for Ten and hosting what turned out to be a hilarious puzzle
Rose for inspiring me with a dumb tweet and helping me build (and for hosting!) Eleven
MeatDaddy for Sixteen's so fittingly chaotic grid and spanner, and writing suitably chaotic clues to match
Will E for blessing me with the theme for Seventeen that was very much right up my alley
Chris A for bringing me a fun mini-theme set for Eighteen and letting me write some silly clues for it
Kate who saved me from a grid gone wrong and wrote some most excellent clues for Twenty One
Dob for indulging my ever-want to just build fun themeless grids and let other people write all the best clues (Twenty Three) (and for being my emotional support throughout this whole thing 💜)
Chris P for being ass-tastic, of course and providing just the seed needed to make Twenty Five a success
Momes for coming up with the *perfect* midi theme set for the season with Twenty Six and letting me crash course her in crossfire
Brooke for lifting me up just when I needed a push to the end with her starting stack for and excellent partnership on Twenty Seven
And of course, Ada Nicolle, who started this whole nonsense in the first place. It wouldn't exist at all without her.
Honorable mentions go to those who directly or indirectly inspired themes, clues, seeds, or puzzles; helped with tech or testing; encouraged me to keep going when I was getting really tired there in the middle; and more: (Funny, this list used to be longer, but many who qualify ended up appearing above)
Will | Brendan | Sara | Crossnerds | Steve | Alex
Now, finally, I present Twenty Eight: a celebration of this project and all that it's brought. Thank you all! And thanks to Christopher Adams for giving it a spin.
